Are the posted questions getting worse?

It appears this article caused him to *start* a blog. So, probably best to hit the dampers early on him.

    I noticed. 🙁

In that case maybe a polite comment first from you (as the author) explaining that he can't just copy the entire article, no more than he can photocopy the local newspaper and hand it out in a coffee shop. Maybe worth mentioning the practical limits of 'fair use' (with reference to academia if necessary)

I would if there was any way to contact him I could find. His profile has no information, there's no 'contact me' links, etc. I'd like to try polite first, he seems like a nice guy (at least on electrons), but that option is unavailable.

Post a comment on that blog post. It's public, but...

On another note, I have been noticing for quite some time that the patience level of the forum regulars has gone down couple of notches. There are quite a few snappy comments even for a smallest mistake from the poster who is asking for help. Sometimes when I read the threads I feel a bit shocked. This was not how it was when I first joined SSC. Something is not quite right here. I think we should examine ourselves before we make SSC into a place where the Posters feel not welcome. Maybe we could all tone down our responses.

I know that this might make some people unhappy... But thats how I feel.

Agreed... and some of the canned posts being used on newbies sound pretty bad, as well.

Hey Threadizens - I try not to be this way, but if you think I am, please PM me and let me know!

I just noticed I hit 10k "points" on SSC today. Good way to end the year, as it were.

    Congratulation Gus!

Great job on the short-circuit article, Gianluca!

I missed it... what's the link?

Great job on the short-circuit article, Gianluca!

Thank you, Jon! It would have been a hill of crap without the help of Gus, Jeff and Paul (in strict chronological order).

Nah... you don't give yourself enough credit, Gianluca. It was a great article to start with. I don't know about the others but my suggestions were nearly trivial.

Still, I missed the article when it came out. What's the link, please?

  • Happy New Year, to all the threadizens. I know a few of you kiwis and Aussies are celebrating. About 14 hours to go here.

  • Less than 6 hrs here in Europe.

I watched the Firework (TV) they had in HongKong. Very impressive!
