Are the posted questions getting worse?

I've never done the video conference stuff before. I'm debating whether I should put my toe in the water or jump back to avoid the sharks.

I've seen Jaws. I know what happens to the unwary.

... go for it. Nothing bad will happen. You can count on members of the thread to hecklesupport you.

Aww. Thank you, Grant. I feel so loved. @=)

Today is my last working day for this year. There fore I want to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous new year, 2011.

On another note, I have been noticing for quite some time that the patience level of the forum regulars has gone down couple of notches. There are quite a few snappy comments even for a smallest mistake from the poster who is asking for help. Sometimes when I read the threads I feel a bit shocked. This was not how it was when I first joined SSC. Something is not quite right here. I think we should examine ourselves before we make SSC into a place where the Posters feel not welcome. Maybe we could all tone down our responses.

I know that this might make some people unhappy... But thats how I feel.

A happy and prosperous new year for you as well.

Makes sense to reflect on that kind of thing right now and see if we can't improve a bit.

I have to agree as well. I know we are professionals and we can usually separate the things that impact us at work and at home while we are trying to assist others here on SSC. Unfortunately, sometimes life intrudes too much and it get reflected in our responses. Perhaps there is a time when we should sit back and reflect on what we are saying before we hit that post button.

I know that is one of the things I will work harder at doing, after all I really don't what lose my sainthood.

  • on blogging:

I'm on blogger and syndicated here. If I had to do it over again, I'd start with a free wordpress account instead of blogger because I think wordpress looks a bit nicer and has some better options. I actually have a wordpress account but have not moved to it. I might move to it if I ever buy a domain. I've got a deal with Andy Warren that when he gets a logo for SQLAndy I'll get a domain.

Definitely get a backlog before you publish. I didn't and I have a hard time keeping up.

You can't tell how short I am in that picture so it works well I guess 😉

My wife will probably make me change it now. 😀

I can't believe that she's doing that... I bet there is more than 2, they just aren't manly enough to admit it:-P

I am really struggling for inspiration for a 24hop abstract. Would a session title 'Bad plan! Sit!' intrigue people, or kill them with laughter?

I think either way is good 🙂

Idea of the day - watch Monty Python lego version with kids.

There's a lego version? ACK! Must see!

Unfortunately, it's just one of the songs and not the whole movie. 🙁

    Camelot!

Yes - it is better on infinite loop.

As for the comment degradation. I agree. Some self-reflection and increased patience will be forthcoming on my part.
