For any that might be interested in an opportunity to heckle a threadizen, check this out[/url].

Bummer... user group was locked out of their meeting place.

That almost happened to us (Memphis Dot Net UG) one night. We moved to a new location shortly after that.

Looking for a new place now. Somewhat peeved.

    Bellagio or Luxor?

    Bellagio would be great.

Isn't that the one where you have to go through the lounge with topless scantily clad ladies to get to the conference room?

    Wayne,

That description doesn't help to single out any one casino from another down here.;-)

I'm failing to see the problem with this... I'd purposely go out of my way to wander through said lounge on the way. 😎

LOL, I have to say that being in Vegas for SQL Connections, it didn't seem that wild. Most of the geeks I saw were still more interested in networking with others than gambling or looking for the scantily clad ladies.

I understand both the fact that's it's not a highlight and, especially, the travel part. I just want to encourage everyone to give it a shot as they are all qualified, IMO. Plus it's another chance to meet/see people.

At least Grant and Wayne will be there.

On a side note, I had my first real test to figure out what put me in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, an EGD to check my digestive system. Nothing major wrong there, just gastritis, so we've eliminated one thing.

Good to hear you're doing better.

I still may submit, just slightly worried about the travel that time of year. One positive thing is that snow is mostly gone then, so not a lot holding me here on the weekends. :w00t:

Next time I head up to visit family, Steve, and you're in town, we'll have to go out. I assure you, Vegas can be plenty wild. Exhausting, too. 😀

thanks, but I'd prefer a quiet dinner or drink, maybe a little time at a table. I have no real desire to live "The Hangover" anymore. Getting a little old for that.

  • Is it just me, or do others also see that the quantity of technical posts has dropped considerable lately? I know all the schools are closed, but there were good questions that didn't seem to be from that source...

Well, if you've got some time to kill, I wouldn't mind some extra eyes on this issue of mine: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1032133-360-1.aspx#bm1032767

There are still a few decent questions but I'd go along with that. Not much came up yesterday.

What's surprising me, today, is the number of folks lurking in here - you're not all avoiding the Christmas crowds now are you?

Spent the morning doing a SAN perf check and SQL installation. Supposed to be writing up report of that, but motivation .... lacking .....

Sheesh Gail I hope you were getting paid for that. Your last comment suggests otherwise 🙁

Of course I'm getting paid for it. Client wanted it ASAP, client paying for it. I don't do charity work for clients.

Motivation for writing report still lacking. I may be getting paid for it, but it's still Sat evening and I have several things I'd rather be doing.

Do them, saturday night doesn't last forever. Except...once you've had your fun, run back with DBCC TIMEWARP and do the report 🙂
