I have to wonder if this thread is encouraging people to respond more harshly to articles, posts, etc. Certain we've seen an uptick amongst ourselves of bashing other posters. But today I see this in response to one of Jeff's articles.Mike McIver (12/7/2010)
Really . . . I don't know where to start. <CommentCutting> This article is an example of how poor coding propagates...We know the old saying. There's a critic in every crowd. Several of us have already responded to this post, but I wonder how many of us would have answered the way we did if that second comment weren't inserted into the respondent's reply.
Are we propagating bad internet / forum behavior? This thread can be seen by anyone, remember. Even those who don't have an SSC login.
I have been a little concerned about this, trying to keep an eye on it. There is a little "piling on" at times, and I'm not sure if it's good or bad. On one hand I like to see people supporting others, or emphasizing that more information is needed. Easy for an OP to dismiss one person. However when it becomes 4 or 5 people, I think it can be a little intimidating.
I've noticed the same thing, and have been working to avoid it.

Ray, FYI: If you get baked beans w/o sugar, you can add a tablespoon or two of dark brown sugar to my recipe too, but most varieties of beans come sweet enough that I usually omit the sugar.
I usually go with the Bush's Baked Beans. Does that suffice, or would you recommend something else?

Same here. But Bush's has a brown sugar version, so don't add sugar if you're using that version of it. Otherwise, it gets overwhelming.

I am trying to keep my word that I gave to Jeff. I am writing an article on how to have successful net meetings. π If I dont write it, I might get a frozen Pork chop launched at me. πWant to share pork chop recipes?
10 x 9 pan or casserole dish
Lots of baked beans
Mustard - favorite flavor / brand (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Salt (to taste)
Preheat oven to 375(F). Not sure what the temperature conversion is.
Put baked beans in pan. Add condiments to taste. Tenderize pork chops lightly (don't smush 'em). Work chops underneath baked beans.
Bake for 35-45 minutes until chops are tender and cooked clear through.
Drool.
Add a little sliced chorizo and a generous handful of garlic, a splash of olive oil and a sprinkle of thyme - and voila, Spanish grub. Yum!

Looks good, though. Still, I must mock you on your use of the URL tag. @=) Mock mock mock.
EDIT: I should add I did the exact same thing yesterday and had to go back and edit a post because of it.
