I saw that movie with the girlfriend I had at the time. She liked it, but I can't say I did.

Come on, Alvin. At least admit to enjoying the Kennedy jokes.

The movie had it's good parts, then the aliens make an appearance. πŸ˜›

  • I have to wonder if this thread is encouraging people to respond more harshly to articles, posts, etc. Certain we've seen an uptick amongst ourselves of bashing other posters. But today I see this in response to one of Jeff's articles.

Really . . . I don't know where to start. <CommentCutting> This article is an example of how poor coding propagates...

We know the old saying. There's a critic in every crowd. Several of us have already responded to this post, but I wonder how many of us would have answered the way we did if that second comment weren't inserted into the respondent's reply.

Are we propagating bad internet / forum behavior? This thread can be seen by anyone, remember. Even those who don't have an SSC login.

Aren't you just describing the Highlander series of movies?

I have been a little concerned about this, trying to keep an eye on it. There is a little "piling on" at times, and I'm not sure if it's good or bad. On one hand I like to see people supporting others, or emphasizing that more information is needed. Easy for an OP to dismiss one person. However when it becomes 4 or 5 people, I think it can be a little intimidating.

In case anyone had any doubt about the value of these articles, wanted to share that Jeff's Contiguous Date article today was exactly what I needed, and was able to point a couple colleagues to that rather than mess with sample code myself.

Thanks for that! Great stuff, keep 'em coming!

Good to hear. That's what I was hoping for with these types of articles.

    I may skip that ingredient.

.... Tenderize pork chops lightly (don't smush 'em). ...

The throwing will probably tenderize them, and there's guarantee they won't be smushed. πŸ˜›

I just copied your recipe and emailed it to myself! I'm going to have to try this sometime! (Maybe even tonight!)

    OMG! That sounds so good!

Definitely going to have to try that one. It sounds so good. I've never had coconut rice before.

Ray, FYI: If you get baked beans w/o sugar, you can add a tablespoon or two of dark brown sugar to my recipe too, but most varieties of beans come sweet enough that I usually omit the sugar.
