Are the posted questions getting worse?

Get well Jack. November is just not your month I guess. First your son broke his hand now you are having high cholesterol.

Considering the timing (just before Thanksgiving) and seriousness, I would take those things into serious thought this week.

  • Thanks for all the well wishes folks. Still haven't seen the cardiologist, but have seen his nurse practioner, an internal medicine doc amd his nurse practitioner and others. Not sure what is going to be done. One Dr wants a stress test another doesn't. Now under stress.

Shame they can't just test that!

    Good to hear from you.

The day might come when they'll be able stick prod up you know where and read the diagnostic data. I'm in no hurry for that. :w00t:

Jack - disregard (or in Navy terminology... "belay the last"). You need to definitely TAKE IT EASY! No hopes... you MUST!

All this gibbering and jabbering about age -- Your are all youngsters.

I've got a GREAT GRAND DAUGHTER born on April 2nd, 2010. As Jeff Moden once said "Ron you are 3 days older than dirt" - and Jeff is correct.

So far, I am of reasonably sound body, and I thought sound of mind, but now realizing I follow the Therdizens - beginning to question that "sound mind" assumption.

Now if someone wants to guess my age, here is a clue I entered my teen years, the year World War II ended.

Um, I don't know how to put this politely, but my parents are younger than you. πŸ™‚

Sound mind? Here? What are you thinking? I doubt any of the regulars here has. πŸ˜€

Hey, I have a sound mind! I listen to a ton of music. Lots of it from when bitbucket-25253 was just a child.

How many of you'll like Big Band or Swing?

That don't mean a thing...(you know the rest) I'm only 32, but I was a jazz major. Just means you have taste, not that you're old.

And, well, I wasn't sure if Gail was familiar with them

Totally lost. No idea what you're talking about.

Aside: This is why, when I took part in the Pass summit quizbowls, I scored on technical questions and fell flat on geek culture questions. Often the geek culture doesn't come this far out.

It isn't so much "geek culture" as "American teenage boy culture". They're talking about the Three Stooges. I'm a fan of the Marx Brothers.

Last night, I shot an elephant in my pajamas. I'm not sure what it was doing in my pajamas.

(MAJOR Marx Brothers fan. I can watch A Night at the Opera on inifinite-repeat. Same for Coconuts. "Why a duck? Why a no chicken?")

I live in Florida now. Black Friday is not so bad when you can wait in line at 2:00 a.m. in only a jacket, t-shirt, and jeans.

    @=)

You can wait in line at 2 AM if you want. I'll probably be home. πŸ™‚

Yup - stay at home let the insane do their thing.

Black friday is officially the friday after thanksgiving but the the online deals started this last friday and you can save yourself time and money just by doing it online before thanksgiving. πŸ˜€

But with online deals, you risk bait-n-switch, wrong products being shipped, and poor quality. Not to mention phishing scams.

According to our local news, anyway, who is warning all and sundry that when shopping the deals online, one should be very alert and know who you're purchasing from before giving over all that juicy Credit Card information. (Not that this behavior should be different any other time of the year, IMHO. But the local news likes doing paranoia alerts.)

Anyone ever tried pre-paid credit cards online? That should be a safer way to shop and avoid identity theft.

I do a fair amount of online shopping, but only from several of the major sites.

I stay away from Joe's Softwear and Fish Bate Bargin Basemint. :w00t:

I do it the old fashioned way... shopping on Christmas Eve. And I take cash with me. When I'm out of cash, I'm done shopping. Everyone else gets a card that I bought right after Christmas last year. πŸ˜›

  • Looks like the stress you were talking about caught up with you, Jack. I've actually been through that a couple of times including the trips to the hospital. It's never fun and, you're right... fake eggs suck! Long live BACON!!! πŸ˜›

I'm glad to hear you're going to be ok.

Hmmm... reminds me... why did I work 71 hours last week?

I suspect the developer who said those can't be optimised doesn't know the meaning of the word. Dynamic SQL and lots of NOLOCK to start with.
