I hope you folks in the U.S. will have the following Friday as well as the weekend off and you'll have a wonderful weekend with your friends and family!!!!That's the plan. Plus I'm taking Wednesday off - at my grandkids school, the day before Thanksgiving is "Grandparents Day" where we can visit the kids in their classes, etc.
Considering your "GrandPa" status I'm expecting you're in the mid 40's, right?
Reasoning: A friend of mine became a dad at the age of 18 and his son followed his dead...
So, at the age of 36 he had to call himself "grandpa".
We didn't take any advantage of it.... Except for handing him a pair of glasses, a pipe, and "the Brothers Grimm fairy tales" at a birthday gift... His wife (not the mother of the son aforementioned though) received a similar gift as well. At the age of 32. π

I'm taking Wednesday and Monday too, we're taking the train to spend the holiday with friends. The train is the best way to travel during the holidays.

The only avatar I'd switch to is this one, but I don't think Steve would let me use it here (and I don't know if I'd want to be associated with it professionally!)

Why being so negative?
As per wiki
"[Larry] did more reacting than acting, staying in the background and providing the voice of reason."
or
"Larry was what some friends have called a 'yes man,' since he was always so agreeable, no matter what the circumstances."

Not negative... just curious. Why me? Why not one of the others? Grant? Gus? Jason?

Honestly? Because I personally have more interaction with you on these boards than the other three, and I know you have a sense of humor as well. π Though, I guess I could have volunteered Jeff, too. π And, well, I wasn't sure if Gail was familiar with them, and Gus usually seems quite serious.
However, if Gail keeps up on this project she's on, she might end up as zany as Larry was on occassion. :w00t: *ducks and runs!*

Totally lost. No idea what you're talking about.
Aside: This is why, when I took part in the Pass summit quizbowls, I scored on technical questions and fell flat on geek culture questions. Often the geek culture doesn't come this far out.

It isn't so much "geek culture" as "American teenage boy culture". They're talking about the Three Stooges. I'm a fan of the Marx Brothers.

Teenage boy? Really? My parents liked the Stooges as well - and they are OOOOOOOld now;-).
Both are comical and good at times.

you don't know me very well yuk yuk yuk.
Gus usually seems quite serious.
Appearances aren't always what they seem. Afterall he is balding and has (had) a beard. At one point he was very lizard like.
