So it seems.
Nothing to complain about today?

Yes.

Gail - do you know anything about SS2008's DBCC CHECKDB adding in checks for sys.parameters?
Not that I know of. Maybe ask the Master (Paul Randal)?
p.s. if the DBs were created on 2005 the Data_Purity wouldn't have been required. Would have been done by default.

Plenty, but I think most people are tired of hearing me whine about the Nightmare Project.

And if she chooses not to, a new topic of discussion. I'll start.
TOPIC: Things you should never tell your parents
How those footprints *really* got on the ceiling.

Easy - since the ceilings are 12ft, we used our compound bow with a shoe mounted to the end of an arrow - and shot the shoes at the ceiling.

ceiling...
This made me remember... when my kids were younger, one was making spaghetti. He took the pan off the stove - without hot mitts. When he dropped the pan, the sauce shot up to the ceiling.
We still joke him about spilling dinner on the ceiling...

I think you spoke too soon.

Mr. Celko, please go away. The question was obviously answered, DDL or not. Why do you feel like you have to stick your "expertise" in where it's not appropriate or appreciated?
Edit: Farbeit for me to "crosspost," but I just took my comment above and posted it directly. Sorry, folks, but nothing pisses me off more than condescendence, and quite frankly, I'm sick of Celko. (I'm not even bothering with the "Mr." Celko -- IMHO, he doesn't deserve the title or any such respect when he does nothing to earn it.)

I agree. I have seen much worse than that from him.
There's a wide bias on his posts, due to his history.

Now why did I not think about that? It would have been a lot easier than turning the house upside down. 😀

Let's just say that if you and I have an informal chat about a problem and come to the agreement that X is a bad way of going about things and maybe we should consider alternatives and then you go to management and tell them that the system is useless because it can't do X and that I said X was impossible and that I'm being uncooperative, I'm going to be mildly peeved.
