I thought the way to defeat COBOLDs was to ask them about five-digit years. Causes them to hyperventilate themselves into a coma, or something.

I predict COBOL will still be around for another 8000 years... at which time there will be a Y10K crisis.

COBOL could be around for another 8000 years, but my guess is that, by that time, only the mutant self-aware cockroaches will care.

They may have gotten to the PC level. It only takes 3 digits for CTL+ALT+DEL. Does this mean that Windows is appealing to our reptile brains, or that you must have a brain the size of a walnut to use it...

I can find the thread just fine, all 200 pages of it!
I think google's cache is better now. When I searched (last week), I got 1 hit for that search term, and it wasn't the one I ws looking for.
