I would just like to let everyone know that I live very green.
My sheets are green, my clothes are green, my food is green, my cats are green... Oh, wait. They just got into the paint.
Oh, now there's a way to show commitment to being green. I'll paint my skin green! @=)

Good for you, but that does not make me green with envy. ๐

Some kind of Novel award?
I almost feel like copying the select statement and see how many pages it takes to print.

Should give him a Lincoln award for preserving the Union.

I had to go back and look at who the OP was as soon as I saw how long that was. I recently worked on optimizing a similar query wriiten by a co-worker. The OP wasn't her.

And for all the little Lincolns gathered as others throw their 2 cents worth in?
Seems to have gotten scared off, hope they come back and see there are a few good tips to be found.
I got the impression that they may be someone who would be willing to learn and possibly given a bit more context to the problem if suggestions were made.

I'm hoping he wasn't scared of, but is trying to implement some of the suggestions. A query like that can take a long time to rewrite.

Personally, I think being "green" is just a responsible way to be. Politics aside, and regardless of whether global warming is or isn't happening, being more efficient and less disruptive seems to be the smart move.
I totally agree. It's a nice planet, let's leave it in at least as good a condition as we found it.

... we need several hundred years of records to know this, and we barely have one hundred. I also believe that this whole global warming stuff is all politicalized - and as usual, they are full of, well, hot air (to be nice about it).I might argue we need several thousand years of records. The Earth has been around for a long time, and it's hard to know what the pattern is.
We have about 4 billion years of records. The problem is interpreting it.
