Currently watching them test to see if a cup of soda can kill you through a windscreen if thrown while cars travelling at highway speed. Actually scary, cause I very nearly had that happen to me years back, with a can of soda, both cars in excess of 100km/h
Indeed MythBusters is the mix of fun and science π
btw not so long ago, I had a bird strike whilest riding my bike. It hit me on top of my helmet, right above the vizor. It was a blackbird that crossed my path. I was lucky that it didn't hit my during a curve, or I would for sure have ended up on the side. It was a hell of a noise and a shock to the neck for me (sencible for a couple of hours). The bird didn't make it.
For my helmet is was a spot of bird chalk.

For the Americans on here, 100 km/hr is just a touch more than 60 mph. π
Or for ex-Naval types, it's a tiny weeny itsy-bitsy tad under 54 knots. I guess that since 1969 this would work for flyers too. π

In fairness to the bird, it sounds like you struck it rather than the other way round!

Love MythBusters, but haven't seen that one. On a side note, I had a discussion with Andy Warren about trying to spice up the key note at the Summit by bring in someone like Adam from MythBusters or Jeremy Clarkson from TopGear.
Adam Savage talking about SQL? Now that ought to be pretty funny! "Don't try this at home... we're professionals!"

No, but it will shatter your windscreen (hole right through and rest cracked into tiny pieces held together by the lamination) and likely lead to an accident as you will not be able to see a thing (windscreen shattered and covered with soda) and because there are pieces of glass and soda flying past you.
Oh, and that can of soda that was thrown at me...
Ricocheted off the driver's window (fortunately) leaving a nice crack.

thanks. I'll file that under 'might come in handy one day'
we don't have mythbusters here but we do have a program called brainiac who do off the wall experiments, sounds similar. They have a penchant for blowing up caravans but that might be because richard hammond from top gear was on it.
As for the can of soda, I'll be more accurate next time. π

If it had happened late yesterday, I'd also be thinking about that certain author that I refuse to read. Not sure he appeciated being corrected.

Who throws a can of soda out of a car? That's insane. Almost makes you want to hook up a camera and 10 min loop of video, recording what happens around your car.
I got hit by a boat about 20 years ago, while riding my bike. Guy was weaving a little and the side bumper on his boat (towed) hit my elbow while I was riding my bike alongside the road.
I tried to catch him, but couldn't. I didn't fall, but I was seeing red.
