No. I find it professional and well-reasoned. It is the correct and necessary response to the question.

Sorry, not me. No more travel until the Summit and except for fairly local stuff, no travel at all unless I get someone to pay for it. Mrs. Scary controls the purse strings (and wears the pants).

No, what makes you think it might have been?
The misconceptions concerning shrinking versus truncating logs might make for a better '2sday' blog post than 'truncate table cannot be rolled back'. Both have been covered very many times, and yet both persist...:(

Not even a little bit. Very clear, to the point, fact based... looks fine to me.

Reading over it after I posted it read (to me) almost like a tirade rather than an explanation.

I've written twice on that already (blog post and article). Not touching it again (until it's time to rewrite my tran log article here). If you want it, take it. I have 3 table variable myths targeted.

When I die I'm donating my body to science-fiction.Oh, is that a promise? I could use a few more cadavers...
@=)
More??? The next question is kinda obvious but I'm scared to ask!
He said Science-Fiction. I'm a Science-Fiction author. Been thinking of branching into Mystery... You do the math. @=)
Ok...that would be 42 then. 6 x 7.
According to the late Douglas Adams, it was 6 x 9!
Hey, it works in base 13!

Of course Mrs. Scary wears the pants, Grant, you wear a kilt! π
By the way, poking around YouTube last night, I saw a video of Michael McIntyre (comedian) on the Birth of the Kilt. Thought I'd share. π

I see. Well, I went back and read it again, just in case I missed it first time around...and I still think it's totally fine.

I'm planning to do something on the read committed isolation level or partitioning - haven't decided yet.

I agree - they need to understand how backups work, and the relation to how you correctly maintain the log file size.
If they can't read this, and understand it, they probably shouldn't be a DBA.

Oh, I've worn skirts too. Used to wear tube skirts out "clubbing" back in the eighties. There's a reason I'm "scary."
