The final part of my optimizer series is up today. As expected, the page views have been lower than normal, but it has been good to reach new people like Hugo Kornelis and some of the SSC regulars (and ASK regulars like Matt Whitfield). Thanks to everyone that did read the series.SSC optimizer article views: 17,316

Paul, I've really liked those articles. Heck, all of your articles have been keepers. Thanks for being a part of this community, and for the great articles. Keep them coming!

Yep sure will - and thanks. I'm moving house at the moment, and waiting for my new laptop to arrive (my old one is single-core and has a very shonky power connection), and Amanda has broken her finger (on a horse!) so I've been struggling for blog/article time over the last two weeks...:-D

Pretty good considering it was up on the blog first and then republished on ssc.
True, but SSC views all tend to come within a few days of going up - the blog has a 'longer tail'.
Plus SSC has 1M+ subscribers...

Combine this and the BIT thread and I'm just about ready to throw in the towel.

But Gail, you know that there are so many other people that truly appreciate you. Just ignore the ID 10 T's and help those that appreciate it.

Yeah. Still hurts though. Sets a really crappy tone for the day too...

By the way for some reason going down is always slower and harder than going up.
Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that you already climbed the damn thing, and you're tired?
Or that you are constantly looking down?
It has more to do with the fact that you're going backwards.
It's harder to see where you're putting your feet, hence harder to ensure your foothold is trustworthy.

What an odd reaction by Mark Enloe (presumably the OP using a different account).
He/she seems to be overly sensitive: I saw nothing wrong with the replies in that thread.

That and the controller error on \Device\Harddisk4\DR4 π
The day can only improve.

Don't think it's the bit thread OP. Different phrasing and language constructs

Dunno. Maybe he doesn't like the 'Have you used a search engine' reply

Still trying to figure out what drive that is. The internal drives are 0, 1 and 2, so it's either my external 1TB or one of my flash drives, depending which were plugged in at the time the error happened (sometime yesterday).
The day can only improve.
Dunno about that.
