Are the posted questions getting worse?

Jason, you can keep an eye on that 2005 upgrade if you want. I'm running for cover.

Would you let someone who's not sure how to install SQL 2005 do an upgrade from 2000 to 2005?

I need that heavy duty rain coat to go with the boots. It could get messy. :w00t:

Another failed attempt and OP still clueless. Recommendation? Return DVD to MS.

  • I'd send them a business card. $100/hr, be happy to work over RDP and install SQL for you.

Steve, you left out the minimum 4 hr charge.

BTW, we need one more emoticon. We need one for banging head against something.

I do recall with PL/SQL though that we were taught to do everything via looping. That could have just been the person teaching us though.

Doesn't that have something to do with the implementation of loops/cursors in Oracle's stuff? (says the guy who doesn't know anything)

Think I read that somewhere, one of those SQL Server vs Oracle posts.

I can see it now, Alvin is going to add that avatar to his sig block so that emoticon will be present in every post.

    Nope.

Well, time to go. Got to stop by my mailbox and pick my copy of SQL Server 2008 R2.

    Bye y'all.

  • IIRC, it is actually a myth that Oracle runs better with loops and cursors. Perhaps I'll have the opportunity to verify that well written set-based queries run better than cursor-based queries.
