Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Probably a combination of things. But when companies downsize (or don't replace as people leave), those remaining are expected to many times wear several hats.

Sometimes those simple demos - like at a product launch - make it appear anyone should be able to pick up a tool and be productive. I remember seeing LINQ at some launch - showed some promise, but I quickly saw that lacked some features that we'd need in our environment. Like Left Outer Joins...

Also, some of the younger people probably can't remember a time B4 IE and Google. So they see this as the normal, quick, and simple way to get an answer.

Well, it was a thrilling moment, I don't mind saying. I'll be picking up one of those integrated face sheild/helmet/ear protection things soon (read ASAP). First time in 10 years of using a chainsaw.

Go Steve for calling someone's question silly...

  • There must be increased sunspot activity or something because it sure seems like there's a bunch of these popping up all of a sudden.

My guess based on the link in Steve's post is that the person wanted to know the differences between SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008.

  • There you go doing something smart like clicking on the link.

Since Steve's post was after the edit, I imagine he's referring to the question as it currently stands - 'Pls give complete details'

What does the OP expect, someone to copy-paste the entire of Books Online?

  • They probably have BOL, I think they want someone to copy and paste just the relevant portions so they don't actually have to spend any time doing the work.

Possibly. It is also possible that Steve was writing a reply when the OP was editing his post.

  • Regardless...

    PLZ give complete differences

Without, at the very least, three or four lines of qualification, that's a pretty lame post on just about any topic.
