Are the posted questions getting worse?

Great Job Paul... Way to go. πŸ™‚ Your blog is on fire.

@jeff. I never set up the netmeeting. I am going to see how that can be done.

    Roy,

Let me know if you need a hand with this. We can Skype if you have it. If your chapter doesn't have a Live Meeting account set up you need to contact Nancy Nasso at PASS HQ to get it setup and you need to do it now.

Thank you. I will get in touch with Nancy today itself.

  • Douglas McDowell is supposed to be "escalating my issues" with the newly upgraded UGSS website. I've made it clear to him that as far as I'm concerned, the UGSS website is now unuseable. I encourage other group leaders to file complaints with both PASS and UGSS. INETA also would not be a bad idea.

  • Hello The Thread!

Sorry about disappearing so suddenly and completely a few months back. Let's just say life has been unusually "interesting" lately, and hope you guys can forgive the absence.

Now for the challenge of trying to catch back up on this thread and others!

  • So here is my question of the day

How do you convince somebody that archive data should not be changed?

    Data integrity didn't work

Point in time visibility did not work

    Reporting consistency did not work

Legal implications? It'd be a violation of just about every compliance law I can think of. When we used to get SOX audits, one of the things we had to 'prove' was that the audit data couldn't be changed.

What is their argument for changing it? Was the data wrong in the first place? I'd say if they have a really good argument or are intractable, set up a snapshot for them while explaining the legal implications of using the changed data. That way they get to have their changed data, but don't actually change the archived data, they just have a separate set with their "corrections".

  • @Kit - Arnold is on his way

@ray and @Gail - nice angle. I should have thought of that. Sox and California privacy should be able to win that argument. I have a bit of hope.
