The Red Gate Source Control webinar starts in a few, if any of you are interestedPerfect timing, thanks Steve! (good show, btw)
Thanks, all demo mistakes were not my fault.
I actually think I'll be doing some of this at #SQLSat52 in Denver.
What software was used to broadcast the webinar, Steve?

That'd be great! I actually wouldn't mind getting to NZ to see him speak. I can't afford it, but it would be nice.

I would appreciate if any of you who are going to use remote speakers, or are going to broadcast your user group meetings, could post the URL in here. We're considering trying either/both for our PASS Chapter and I'd like to see what the experience is like for the remote viewer.I got the chance to catch most of Grant's presentation to Jason's group the other night. From a technology point of view, I was happy with how it worked. Great presentation too. I learned quite a bit about reading execution plans.
Grant,
What technology did you use? Other than "GOTO MEETING", I've never done a remote presentation before.
LiveMeeting. I've used it a bunch of times so far. It's very simple to share the desktop, video, voice. Works fine.
It looks like LiveMeeting costs $49 a month. Did you buy your own copy, Grant, or are you using, ummmm.... someone one else's "license"? I want to do a remote meeting for Roy but I don't want it to cost me an arm and a leg.

Official PASS Chapters which Roy's is, get a free license of LM so you don't need one as long as Roy has gotten his account setup by PASS. Roy will setup the meeting and send you a presenter link.
I also believe you have a complementary LM account as an MVP, so you might want to contact your MVP lead to find out.

Awesome info, Jack. Didn't know about the Chapter LM. That pretty much solves the whole thing. I'll setup a test with Roy. Thanks a bunch.
{edit} As a side bar, I've been so bloody busy I've not even taken the tape off my MVP package, yet.

I just finished reading that 4 part series. Freakin' awesome! It took a whole lot of research into the underworld of undocumented features much of which he sussed on his own by "playing" with the features and trial/error on the rules.
Well done Mr. White!
As a side bar, it's really a shame he didn't publish it as a 4 part article on SSC! π

Jack answered already for livemeeting. We use gotowebinar (Citrix) at RG, which IMHO, doesn't work as well.

It is amazing. If Mr. White wants to, I would republish it.

@Wayne: Yes thanks I did see Brent's plug - it popped up as a "TrackBack" in my blog comments section. All very flattering and quite a surprise really.
@steve-2, Jack, Wayne: Getting out to the States is something I would definitely like to do at some stage.
@jeff, Steve: The main reason I didn't submit that mini-series to SSC was because it is part of a much longer 'train of thought' that I really want to develop on my blog. I also underestimated the potential level of interest: I had thought it was rather too technical to be of interest to a general audience, so felt it sat better on the blog, where I can just write whatever interests me without worrying too much about the audience reaction.
@steve-2: Thanks for the offer to republish on SSC - I would be delighted to take you up on that. Just need to find some free time to do the content conversion, shouldn't be too hard though.
@david-2: Thank you.

This won't be a popular answer, but, you're an MVP. You have access to a full license. You just have to register and turn it on.

It's a funny thing about that... strangely enough, I keep forgetting about that because I don't play it up anywhere. I should take advantage of some of the goodies. Thanks Grant.
