    Celko is at it again

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic965546-1292-1.aspx#bm966047

For a community which attempts to help, even the most inept, and helps so many this guy Celko is a real detriment ....

Is there any way of shutting him up, or teaching him you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?

And this is why I won't purchase his books, nor do I really have any desire to meet him personally. And yes, I have heard that his online persona is nothing like him in person, but when this is your first and only impression, doesn't really matter does it.

Hey Lynn! Howzit goin, eh? 🙂

Boring day. In processing with Security and HOUR, get to my cube (already missing having an office) and no computer or email yet. Apparently the paperwork got lost. Other than that, not too bad.

Oh, I'm supposed to do a practice teach Thursday at CollegeAmerica for an Adjunct Professor position. Still haven't finalized that, but it has to be non-technical.

... or teaching him you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?

Thing is, he's not behaving that way out of ignorance. He's behaving that way because he wants to behave that way and be seen the way he presents himself (for whatever reasons)

Correct, he's built this image, and he continues to live up to it, for some unknown reason.

I think one of those has a 'lending' capability, forget which.

What do you mean, "that's not helpful"? 😛

Is there any way of shutting him up, or teaching him you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?

Isn't there some ISO standard on how to write replies on forums that you can redirect him to?

There is but it is not ANSI compliant.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Is it wrong to cry when someone tells me they don't know what Bulk-Logged is?

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic961511-146-2.aspx#bm966015

    It's a forestry expression.

That is scary - check the timestamps of your reply and my last reply.

What's really scary is that I believe we've had a nearly identical conversation very early on in "The Thread". And, nope... I'm not going to look for it. 😛

Serendipity has given you a subject! Do a case study on "experts" like Celko! 😛
