  • Fun time right now, putting together a list of tasks I should try to complete before COB 2010-08-06. Not really that long, yet, but may not have enough time for all of it. Guess I should prioritize the list as well.

  • Good luck, Lynn, and hope it goes well.

Okay everyone, the hardest thing I have had to do since I started here (work) a little over 5 years ago is done, now the countdown to a new position is started.

    Scared, nervous, anxious. :w00t:

Anxious? Actually a good feeling. And pretty normal for this scenario.

Nervous? You shouldn't be nervous... You've demonstrated a huge load of techical knowledge paired by an even huge load of soft skills! You're nick-named "Saint Lynn" for a reason!!

But scared? What are you scared of? You know your skills and in case you ever need some help you know where to go!

    Enjoy the new opportunity!

    Thanks.

It is all based on change. Going into a new position with a new company. I have some idea of what I am walking into, but things could change easily. One change is going to be also working with Oracle as well. Definately going to be learning new things.

Not going to leave here though, as I plan on spending off-hours time learning more about SQL and trying to write more (blogs/articles). New position requires all work to be on-site, so after hours is all mine.

    Why prioritize?

Unless you prioritize by what would be the most gratifying to you.

It also helps to make sure those calls to go grab a beer and talk about old times don't always have to coincide with we need this fixed now. How did you do it again?

Maybe a bit cynical, but it depends on the bridge.

I'm not saying don't do anything for the next two weeks - that's unprofessional.

    WOOT

    4 straight days of BBQ.

I think a 35 minute trip (each way) might be worth good BBQ.

I know I won't have time for a trip, but if someone wants to go for me, I'll buy their share.
