This chap ought to update his cv and brush up on his interview skills. Not sure I'd want to work there. This situation could only have arisen as a result of a whole series of wtfs.
Yep, I think I'd probably walk out under my own power at this point.

Agreed. He's got a persona that he keeps up online and when speaking.
I don't think even his presentation persona is nearly as ascerbic as his online persona. He's pretty strong in what he says & how it says it, but online he's downright mean.

...Not sure it will help, but that, along with a lovely complaint about Mr. Celko has made this a less than enjoyable day.
Never met Mr. Celko, and after reading many of his responses over the last few days not really sure I'd want to meet him. Seems a bit arrogant to me, lacks tact when dealing with people.
Just hope I don't come across like that when I post. Please, someone, hit me with the proverbial 2 x 4 if I ever start acting that way.
Funny thing. I think Joe Celko has multiple personalities. His online persona is pretty horrific. I've met him in person, several times now. He's a total sweetheart. I mean it. He speaks mildly. He's defferential and kind. I like him. I cringe every time I see him posting, but he's a nice guy.

Feels like Deja Vu... I remember seeing this same kind of comments about Joe long time back in the cooler itself.

Joe seems to pop in once or twice a year here, with about the same reception.
He actually is a very nice man in person. Kind of a reference-shock if you've encountered him on forums. I know I was amazed.
At presentations he tends to just go on, ignoring people that disagree. He's not rude, but it can be frustrating to interact with him on stage.

I saw Fat Red's on Memphis Beat. Is that a real place?
It was, but his sister killed him, so they closed it down...

Wouldn't be surprised if some of the comments are mine actually. Sort of hoping that he might change, but not from what I've seen.
You'd think he'd pick up on the reactions of those he interacts with and at least consider making some effort at changing how he is perceived on the forums, unless he just doesn't care. I'm sorry, I wouldn't want people I haven't met to think I was an arrogant *** based on what they may read here or other forums. Doesn't matter how smart, or correct, you are if people don't have any respect for what you say because of how you present it to others.

Agreed.
Packaging is very important. You have to be good but you also have to look good.

Not just in person - his email persona is polite and friendly too - at least when I exchanged email with him it was.

I was going to recommend DBCC TimeWarp, but how can you backup the DB if it's gone? :w00t:
