I think we Southern Hemisphere people are going to have to have hot chocolate with marshmallows in protest of all this mouth-watering BBQ action. We've a top of 13°C/55°F in Melbourne today (which is by no means cold, just colder than summer).

I saw Fat Red's on Memphis Beat. Is that a real place? Not that I'm aware of. But most people rave about Interstate BBQ (my favorite), or Corky's. Now, I have no control over what is at the PASS meeting. That's Alvin's call.
I'm not the one with the expense account so it's not my call, but we've taken out of town speakers out for a bite to eat before, so I'm pretty sure our chapter President would be ready to do it again. I suspect most of the local BBQ places would be acceptable. I guess I need to start checking which places serves thick pork chops. FYI, throwing these is not acceptable. 😛

I prefer ribs or pulled pork to chops. Hmm, I wonder what it would cost to fly to Memphis? Darn, Southwest doesn't fly there.

Maybe we can persuade them to freeze and express ship some things down. Certainly making me feel hungry.

I'm getting to come again this year. How early do volunteers have to arrive? If you mean volunteer for the Summit, there is usually some training during the day on Monday.
I'll definitely be there by dinner on Sunday. It's nice to have Sunday night to get a little bit of an adjustment to the time change although I still woke up at like 4am every morning.
Yeah, me too. And the stupid hotel excercise room didn't open until 5:30 or something like that.
I usually fly in on Sunday too. Just makes for more relaxing travel.

Perhaps a BBQ tour is in order.
Lynn, I didn't know it was possible to have a BBQ sandwich that WASN'T pulled pork.

Pulled turkey sandwich can be good too, depending where you get it from.
I guess we need to have some BBQ for lunch at our SQL Saturday.

There's also pit beef. Delicious pit beef...
