Some posters sure have a strange perspective regarding performance...

Congrats to Gail and the other MVPs awarded today.
Let me add my congrats as well Gail. It's a good list as far as I can tell from the people I've seen awarded. Seems like there were several new awardees in SQL Server this time. I think that means it's getting harder to get awarded.

I should bloody hope that a test with 1000 rows returns in under a second. It requires a really bad query to process 1000 rows in more than 1 sec.

Thanks. Mail came in early this year, didn't have time to start worrying.

Most important: congrats to be awarded! (Didn't expect anything else anyway 😉 )
Regarding the above quote:
When using a loop, it's easy to add a WAITFOR DELAY. 😀
Not that it would help performance, but it would look like the code does something really complicated... 😉

Lets not forget to congratulate Steve too.

What did I do?
I'm not renewed now. And perhaps I won't be if PASS gets to weigh in.

I'm just brown-nosing. 😉

Too many of the players seem to be to be over-paid, under-talented, whining, cheating prima donnas.
That's why I stopped watching the game decades ago.

I have seen plenty people do it from SQL to, without much effort to make a bad query.

Simple to do with a Udf or two 😀
