Heh... poor guy... he's fighting not one but two language barriers (Oracle and French). Although even Oracle works better when using set based code (when set based code is possible in Oracle), the paradigm shift from PL/SQL to set based T-SQL is a terrible thing for folks to go through. I liken it to passing a kidney stone... they just don't know what's happening and it's a terrible pain because SQL is NOT SQL.
Hopefully, it never will be either. ๐

Heh... I've done both and I'm here to tell you that two wrongs, in fact, don't make a right. ๐

Heh... pretty badly too... 3.4% of my posts are on the thread. I can't believe I've spent that much time at the water cooler. That doesn't include any time I've spent lurking here.

Hey, we all work for the same company!
Man, I wish other folks would finally get THAT message. You anywhere near Detroit or Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, Michigan? I might know a couple of folks that could use some help.

Awesome - a KB article on how to post questions to an online forum:That's great. If only there were some way to get people to actually read it.
How about when someone signs up sending some helpful links with the greeting email? Maybe like a top 10 best of SSC links or top 10 SSC suggested reading links.
You know... that's not a bad idea. At least it's one more exposure that they might not ignore.

Gotta tell you thisI heard some schoolkids singing on their way home
"Gordon Brown, Gordon Brown"
"He's dead but he won't lie down"
Hilarious! - who said the youth don't take an interest in politics :w00t:
These things don't change: I remember kids walking in the road (not much older than me) singing a song whose chorus began "Vote vote vote 'son Mgtr Churchill, vote vote vote 'son Iain 'icLeoid" (that's the only line I remember the wrds of, but there were some lines some lines that were quire nasty about members of the incumbent cabinet); that must have been 1950 or 1951. I've heard political songs from wee kiddies at general election time many times since.

Yea, Oracle <> T-SQL.Impossible to say, at least in my case, since Oracle is NULL. :w00t:
Well, back in Oracle v6 I could just about understand it - but now it's gone completely bizarre.
I can't make sense of the function at all.

Well, it's good to see that they don't play favorites. They're an equal opportunity plagarizer.

Worse problem than that, I think. My guess is that Arabic is his/her first language, French his/her second, and English not second but third. French as first language doesn't often produce "s" for "รง", but I've often seen Arabs do it when writing French and this OP did it in his French post.

I've seen them do it quite regularly. Especially since the "รง" makes an "s" sound.

Hey guys I need your help to protect my website from other consultants (who should know better but don't).
You have my sympathies especially since management doesn't seem to be concerned. Seems like a no-win situation for you (maybe the boss is getting a kickback from the other consultants??).
