Hey Paul, your last article[/url], while up there with the very best for technical content, usefulness and accuracy, has a typo in it.Are you suggesting that I should have asked someone to proof-read it first?
Where's the typo? π
Yep.
The typo is under "Physical Reads". It took ages to find the page π
"That analysis also shows that a each physical read was able to load multiple 8KB data pages."

Gah. Oh well - I've corrected it in the source document. Thanks.

Our PhD candidate at work.Hope I wasn't too rude.
This guy has the ability to drive me insane (maybe it's his signature???) .
You and me both. I think it's more attitude and history than just sig.

Gotta tell you this
I heard some schoolkids singing on their way home
"Gordon Brown, Gordon Brown"
"He's dead but he won't lie down"
Hilarious! - who said the youth don't take an interest in politics :w00t:

You really don't want to do that, Jason.

I'm STILL trying to figure out how he keeps his job.
Not hard.
No one else there knows anything about SQL. Managers believe anything the person makes up. I've seen one or two like it before.
(I don't think I want to go into any more detail on a public forum)

I can see the attitude but I gave up on finding the history and references to his Phd. I did come across some others though where his course work was questioned.

It's well over a year ago, possibly longer. In summary...
He posted asking about good universities.
Replies saying that was vague and answer depended on what you're studying and where.
Bit later he posts saying that he's thinking of doing a PhD in databases, do we think that query optimisation is a good area.
I tell him it's an area with a lot of active research, etc.
He asks for introductory material on query optimisation.
Being 3 or so years into my M.Sc, that question rubbed me the wrong way and I gave him a bit of a lecture about the level of material needed to read up on for PhD, and of the importance for original research and self-study at that level of academia.
It went a bit downhill from there....
