Hello everybody!
I have recently lost a part of my data in a Sql server 2000 database but I don't understand how did it happened. I have not done any restore to the database. So I thought that someone may have restored windows to previous point. Are the data of Sql Server database affected by this? In fact the data lost were entered in the database only during the last few days. It is not such a great work but I just want to know how because the same thing happened almost a year ago and I could'nt find any explanation for that.
Thank U

Are you asking clean installation or a repair?
Normally, a repair will not hurt your database. But you should backup all your databases as a DBA.

No, in fact this happened to one of my clients. He has lost some of his data in a strange way and as he says that he has not done any restoration of the database itself, maybe he has restored windows (neither fresh installation of windows nor windows repair). This is only a hypothesis of mine because I don't know what may have happened.
By the way is there any way to find out what has happened? Maybe the database log can help me?
