Hi,
I want to apply SP3 to our current SQL Server 2008 instances which are currently on SP1.
Our server is currently mirrored, so my steps to apply the service pack with no downtime are as follows:
1) Stop mirroring on secondary server.
2) Apply the service pack to the mirrored secondary server.
3)Start Mirroring, once in sync force fail over to secondary server.
4)Apply Service pack to Principal Server
5) Reestablish Mirroring from Principal to secondary.
Can you mirror between different versions of service pack?
I have never applied a service pack to a production environment.
Are there any potential pitfalls I should be aware of? Also are there any guides to applying a service pack?
Many Thanks bugg

Cursors never.
DTS - only when needed and never to control.
