Apologies if this has come up before. I've searched for a similar question but couldn't find one.
I have a SQL 2017 instance that is replicated to another 2017 instance using transactional replication. The distributor is on the same instance as the subscriber.
From what I can gather here Microsoft recommends upgrading the subscriber/distributor instance first, but they also state that this is for ย an environment where a SQL Server is configured to participate in both database mirroring and transactional replication.
I don't have mirroring configured, only transactional replication and I can't find specific instructions for my scenario. Is anyone able to offer some advice please?

Anybody?
Is my scenario really that niche?

Just patch it however best suits the environment, replication will just carry on from where it was stopped due to the service shutdowns, there's nothing special you need to worry about, except making sure the log reader and distribution agents start up again
