Not sure exactly which forum this belongs in so I gook the easy route.
I noticed a book entitled Microsoft SQLServer 2000 Performance Optimization and Tuning Handbook by Ken England, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it? Good/bad? Strong points/areas it glosses over? Readers at http://www.amazon.com had some positive things to say, but would you recommend this book?
Be great!

I had a copy at my last job. Pretty good, well written. Don't remember anything earthshattering in the book, but a good reference to keep handy while trying to figure out why things are slow.
I'd recommend it.

I scanned it one day and as Steve said nothing earth shattering. Most of the information can be found online but again this is an at your figertips source. Don't see too many up on EBay so overall folks like it, but check half.com for a better price than Amazon.

Thoroughly recommended. Well written and easier to read than many, without being 'Noddy'.
It's a British book, that's why it's not so popular.

It's the most popular of the SQL Server performance books for SQL Server on Amazon. It's currently running #11 of all books with a search of "sql server" so it's not doing too bad overall with respect to the general subject.
