We create local backups and then xcopy these file to a safe zone.
This copy is done using XCOPY.
This works fine except for one server having SQL2K sp4. All other servers have sp3a.
What is very strange is that it that jobs that fail seem to be double submitted when consulting the job-history
The job that fails gives a run-duration of -955443:-91:-53
Any hint to solve this case ?

We recently ran into some network connectivity issues relating to file copy(s) on selected servers in our environment.
The solution was to check the NIC card settings on the server and on the switch. The settings of both the NIC card and the switch needed to agree. Once we set the server NIC card(s) to 100mb/Full duplex and the network team set the switch port for those NIC card(s) to 100Mb/Full duplex the file copy(s) ran as they should --> fast and to completion !
One note however is that 80% of the servers did not need a restart. But there were a few that just changing the settings did not eliminate the issue until we had restarted them.
