Just this Analyzer ?
Thanks

Most best practices for previous version of SQL are still valid, of course, so don't limit your searches jsut to 2008 R2.
there's several series of articles here on SSC for Best Practices and Worst Practices; great reading, especially the "Worst Practices" I think. knowing what is a bad practice steers you just as well, or better, than recommendations for good practice.

What best practices are you looking for? SQL Server is so wide, with so many features, it's hard to say write a best practices document outside of a narrow area.
There are some recommendations, but the applications are so varied that I don't know a lot of people that write best practices with confidence. The SQL CAT team has some great recommendation practices in specific areas you can browse here: http://sqlcat.com/Default.aspx

when I installed sql server 2005 there were a few documents I was able to locate
same for 2008, which mostly used sql server 2005
windows 2008 r2 running sql server 2008 r2 seem to be different
just wondering if there was anything new that i need to know for 2008 r2

I'm not sure there's something you "need" to know about R2. There are more features, PBM is enhanced, filestream, etc. that are changed a bit, but I'm not sure there are better Best Practices right now for R2.
