Always On FCI vs Normal SQL Cluster

  • Hi I'm trying to know the difference between Normal SQL Cluster (i have installed this on sql 2008) vs Always on FCI on sql 2014

  • Search this website and you will find a great stairway's series on Always On (by Perry Whittle I think).

A SQL Server failover clustered instance and an AlwaysOn FCI are the same, it's just the marketing term that's different..

See my stairway to AlwaysOn starting at this link
