alternative for sqlexpress edition for small desktop application

    Hi Experts,

    We have small application which we built on C# and having SQL Express as a standalone database.

    We are facing complaints from users that its consuming plenty of time while it installs. SQL Express itself taking pretty lot of time which is around 10 to 20 minutes depending on system.

    Is there any compact edition for sql which would be helpful for such kind of portable applications.

    Will it work if the system doesn't have sql express or any edition installed earlier ?
