I would like to have a 3 node WSFC where Node1 and node2 are in the same
data center and node3 is in another datacenter serving as the DR node.
We would have 3 databases on Node1 as part of AG_A and then have three
databases on Node2 as part of AG_B. Node1 (AG_A) would have Node2 server
as the Secondary replica and then Node2 (AG_B) would have Node1 serve as
its secondary. Node3 would be the DR node for AG_A and AG_B...Node3 would
have enough resources to handle the load of both servers. Is this set up
possible and are there any potential pitfalls to what I envision...
Thanks for any advice...

Perfectly feasible to do, just be exactly clear on what the DR server is for, if you ever enter the situation where it becomes the Primary replica your application servers will be connecting over a network link which may or may not have sufficient bandwidth. How will the application DR work?

Thanks for the quick response...I went ahead and and tested this in a new test environment that was set up for me just this morning...As far as the application we are not resposible for that part but once they are ready to point to the AG Listener with their Application we will send them a connection string that handles multi subnet scenarios and then shut down both the active/active servers and see how the application handles following the AG Listener to the correct IP...
