Alert for Error 1205 not working

    I am having trouble getting the alert for deadlocks to fire.  I setup an alert, set it to fire when Error 1205 is detected.  I have created deadlocks, but never get the alert.  I have tried with trace 1204 both on and off.  I have verified the alert is enabled.  I have verified that other alerts come to my email address.

     

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Should have mentioned - SQL 2000 on W2K03.

    He says that you should mark the error 1205 as logged (by default it's not logged) and restart SQL Server after setting up the alert. Let me know if this works.

    If you want to place the messages into the SQL error log you'll need trace flag 3605 as well.
