Hello!
Our company is trying to find monitoring tool for SQL Server (version 2005 and higher). The features we are looking for are:
1.Live monitoring of Production SQL Servers;
2.Sending alerts/notifications if certain resources are bottlenecked;
3.Logging historical data and performing trend analysis (for example, compare CPU usage now vs. week ago);
4.Intuitive interface and quick learning curve;
Any advice is greatly appreciated,
Igor

I would recommend purchasing over building. If your on a very limitted budget check out the RedGate option or powershell and SQLPX (http://sqlpsx.codeplex.com/) Module.
