Namaste Gururajan,
I'd recommend the book I read when I was in the same position. The title is "Pro SQL Server 2005" and the author's name is Rizzo. It covers all the big changes to get you started in 2005. Better still, you can probably find the book in the bargain bin by now. You can also go check Books 24x7 or Safari if you have subscriptions through IEEE or ACM membership.
Good Luck!

The best place to learn about SQL Server 2005 is their official documentation. I would recommend you to download a copy of BOL.
You can download a copy of BOL from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BE6A2C5D-00DF-4220-B133-29C1E0B6585F&displaylang=en
