Thanks for this helpfull overview. But I wonder about Table 1: Is MRS really single threaded? That does not match the statement that "MRS has all features of MRO".

Matthias,

You are right MRS should have said multi threaded just like MRO.

In both distributions (MRO and MRS ) multithreading is enabled by math library MKL package. As a matter of fact the package is optional with MRO and has to be installed by the user, however it is installed with MRS by default.

Coursera has a data science track that's pretty good but the one complaint I had was that in some courses the learning curve was pretty steep.

Udemy has some good free courses as well along with YouTube
