  Hi,

  I've got about 15 servers I need to add.  6 worked.  the rest failed with

  Enlistment failed (reason: Error 14262: The specified @msx_server_name ('DEVMSSQL01') does not exist.)

  I'm for 'txs account...' I'm choosing the 'Use Windows Authentication' option.

  I'm stuck at the same issue. We've added 65 or so servers thus far and two refuse to enlist. Any ideas?

  Hello Sam / Richc,

  Have you people tried to ping the said error servers from the machine which you are trying to register / add ?

  May be the server name which you are trying to add is not having any default instance.

  Hi - thanks for your idea.

  IP connectivity isn't an issue - pre-authentication works, but enlistment doesn't.

  DNS is fine as well as we are able to resolve via netbios hostname, fqdn, & reverse lookup of IP both ways all with out an issue.

  Now we have three all behaving oddly. Two of which are able to reconnect to the old MSX server and one not being able to connect to any.
