Adding records

  • In Enterprise Manager I use to be able to add records in the GUI in the datasheet view. What and where is the equivelent in SQL Server Management Studio?

  • runelords,

You can add records in the Tables Node of Enterprose Manager.  This is assuming that when you registered the Servers on the PC that is running Enterprise Manager you used a user that has the appropriate rights.

  • I think you missed the point, he was asking about SQL Management Studio, not Enterprise Manager.

I encountered the same issue in looking at SQL 2003, being able to edit records in the datasheet view is very handy.  I haven't found a way to do that; either it will be added in a later release, or we will need another tool.  It shouldn't be too hard to whip up an editable table app in .NET I should think.
