Hello,
SQL DBA here.
Info:
ALWAYS ON config
Windows 2012 R2 Standard
SQL Server 2017
——-----
Node A & B
Node B went down and not recoverable .
Setting up Node C.
A is a physical box(as was B), C is virtual.
Configured WSFC, added feature & node C to AG Role. Removed B.
Both nodes Green.
However I cannot see the 5/6 disks online under “Storage” in FailoverClusterManager(FCM)
They are ONLINE under Server Manager/Disk management.
IF I try to BRING ONLINE in FCM it fails.
Messages FCM under Nodes show All "Cluster Disk 1 - 5", Status-Failed, available storage, Not available.
Little bit stuck here an not sure what to try safely next.
Send back to the windows to check configuration?
Any advice quickly would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

In an AG you don't make the storage shared storage, everything is managed at the replica level.
The only reason for the WSFC is for the role failover capabilities.
Any compute resources, disk/CPU/memory etc are all controlled at the individual replica level and not at the cluster level.
So yeah you shouldn't be making the storage shared, unless you are combining SQL FCI's and SQL AOAG's.
