Adding a new Dimension to an Existing SSAS 2005 Cube

    Hi,

    Is it possible to add a new SSAS dimension to a cube that is already in production without causing a full cube process?. The dimension we wish to add is already in the OLAP database and is updated daily.

    We now need to add it to a cube - the problem I have is that the underlying datawarehouse data is agreggated weekly (this is out of my control) so if I need re-process the cube as a result of adding this dimension to the cube then I risk losing existing cube data only being allowed to load the previous 7 days - obviously not SSAS fault - but it is an issue for me.

    To clarify the dimension I want to add is in the SSAS database but not in the cube and I want to add it to the cube without having to do a full reprocess

    I guess you can't add dimension without having full process the cube. Everytime you change the structure, you must full process the cube
