So where would I put this code so I can execute it? In a DTS task?

Not as detailed as I would like. Usefull but needs to be broadened a bit.

Robert, I guess it would depend on what you were trying to do. Conceivably you could do it in a DTS package to create a table that matched your import file on the fly. Or in a user app that lets them add columns. Nothing special about doing it in DTS, you end up with the same result as if you did an alter table.
Antares, broadened in what direction?

Thanks for the ideas, Andy. It's pretty clear that we'll be using something like this as we make mods to our products. I'm not about to walk 400 something customers through EM to get a column added!

Book online SQL-DMO did not explain how to insert Column into existing table. I searched everywhere to find some info but failed.
It would be very Nice if you can provide some Info about how to Insert Column using DMO
Thanks,
