Add replication Feature to an already installed SQL 2008 R2 Cluster

  • Can you add the replication feature (wasnt installed on install) to a already installed sql Active \ Passive 2008 R2 Cluster ? I know 2008 was a bit funny with things like this. Surely I don't need to wipe the whole cluster and start again.....

  • yes you can add this feature in the current installed SQL Server Cluster installation

  • you have made my day I believe, thank you , so I presume I add to the passive node first like in a upgrade ? then the active ?

  • Yes first add on the passive node and then move cluster on the passive node this will convert on active node then do same as on the second passive node

take your side safe,do backup before do this activity
