Is it just me, or is there a consensus that the 2008 activity monitor is a major downgrade from 2005? lack of the "last batch" time, open transaction count, and login time. I have to admit that I have installed a copy of mgmt studio express 2005 alongside my 2008 installation which I use only for the activity monitor.

I agree that the 2008 Activity Monitor is a downgrade. The look and usability is far inferior to the 2005 version [which was a nice improvement over the 2000 version]. Have not seen 2012 version yet ... hope it operates more like 2005.
Does anyone have a link to documentation that has tips on using the 2008 Activity Monitor? It is difficult to do simple things like widen the columns to read what it says! I have not found a way to get scroll bars to appear either. I am hoping that there is a setting somewhere that I have yet to discover. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
