Though the user logout from server 2005(session) still that users are showing in activity monitor or sp_who or sp_who2 or sysprocesses system table ouput ,with process status as 'sleeping' ,last_waittype as 'MISCELLANEOUS',cmd as 'AWAITING COMMAND'.
Setup:
server:sql server 2005 enterprise edition x64 bit with sp2
Windows server 2003 standard edition x64 bit with sp1
Processor:Dual core AMD(optron) 64 processor 2210
No of processors:2
Please help me solve this problem.
Pls,revert urgently.

Hi,
This sounds like connection pooling, which is how a lot of apps access SQL Server. If so, this is how it's supposed to work, so unless you're certain it's causing problems don't mess with it.

Beside connection pooling it could also be a situation that a user has few connections. He closed one of them, but still has other open connections and those are the connections that you see.
