Accidental creation of certificate and symmetric key on master database.

    I meant to setup a certificate and symmetric key for a specific database on one of my servers. I accidentally created the key while pointing to the master database. Can I drop the key without consequence?

    I believe the answer is YES, but please don't try this on a production server without testing first.

    Please set up a VM or another machine, install SQL and create the keys there, then drop the key and see what happens.
