accessing SQL server from 3rd party application

  • Hi All,

    I have some 3rd party tool installed on 32 Bit Windows server.In the tool i have pointed shared SQL server to write data.I am using sql server authentication.

    when i tried to connect to database it says unable to connect.

    But the same kind of setup is working on my local machine.

    I have used profiler to trace the login host name. My local machien is getting logged but not even a single connection made from the server.

    How do we debug this please help me.

  • is your instance an "Express" instance?

    by default, an express isntance does not allow remote connections...meaning you can work just fiine locally, but nothing can connect to your machine until you change that default setting:
