Hi Experts,
I am a member of local admin to a machine also domain admin in which SQL Server is installed but have only limited access to SQL Server. Is there anyway i can change my account to SA?

Why on sa? If your group or user don't have acces to SQL via Windows Authentication on sysadmin rights, and you don't know which group/user have this privilages, then you could try eg. this http://sqlblog.com/blogs/argenis_fernandez/archive/2011/07/10/think-your-windows-administrators-don-t-have-access-to-sql-server-2008-by-default-think-again.aspx

Also, are you the DBA for the system? If you are not the DBA this limited access may be by design and you would need to get with the DBA to raise your permissions.

I am a DBA and need to have access to that server. Is there anyway to get access without a restart??

Why restart ?? Access will be given by AD administrator. or you need SA pasword so any sql admin users permission details

How AD administrator?? You mean by adding to any group??
I am domain admin and local admin..
If i have SA password or any other sysadmin login credential then why this post!!

You still haven't told us what "limited access" means. Can you connect to the server? Are you getting an error somewhere?
