I'm very new to this forum and access 2007 so please bare my questions.
I have an application in my computer i often use it for retrieving data based on the requirements they already programmed some queries in that application, my problem is that i have one requirement which is not meets the already existing queries i have a query but that file extension is "accdr", ok i changed it to "accdb" when they asked and solving my requirement but i think this is not good idea to do this way all the times because that application is linked with ODBC database.
so please help me with permanent solution...
Thanks for you help in Advance.

The .accdr file extension is used to make the database file read-only and prevent changes to it. As you have discovered, changing it to .accdb lets you edit the file, but it also leaves you open to file corruption and other errors. I would change it back to .accdr which will again make it read-only. However, in the long run you should have the developer incorporate your needs into the application - otherwise when they do put out a new version, you will have to make the same changes again.
