I have a split access db that should be hosted from our server. I said should because the server refuses to run the db from the hard drive, instead it tries to run it from my USB drive (that's how I transfered it). Anyway, I've tried the upsizing wizard without much luck, and I've tried the DTS wizard, with no success either. This is my first time dealing with SQL, so I'm totaly in the dark. I have a couple of books on the subject, but maybe someone in the forum could break it down easier. I was able to load the tables to SQL once, but it wouldn't allow me to define the relationships between my tables. What's with this software? I guess I've gotten too comfortable with Access, and not I'm out of my comfort zone. Thanks for any help you can offer.

hiya,
The USB probably only had "readonly"acccess to the data file.I suspect that:
1) the datafile is still on the USB (and therefore "readonly")
2) OR, you have copied the datafile from USB to harddrive, but you haven't made the datafile "readWrite"
hopefuly that will clear a bit of the problem up
